Katie Zarling Buono
producer, writer, camera, FCP editor
Following her ambition to become a writer, Katie graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State with a degree in English Literature. She did music writing for awhile, but her pursuit of a challenge led her to Oxygen Media, a cable television network aimed at women. Here, Katie was sent to New York City to acquire digital video skills from "father of video journalism" Michael Rosenblum and, upon returning to San Francisco, began producing, shooting and editing short video segments for Oxygen's daily talk show "Pure Oxygen."

In 2002, Katie collaborated on a full-length documentary with reporter/writer Julie Winokur and internationally-acclaimed photographer Ed Kashi. "Aging in America: The Years Ahead" is the result of Winokur and Kashi's seven-year expedition project that explores aging in contemporary society. The project is also a book, travelling kiosk and web site.

Katie left Talking Eyes in 2003 and, after a short stint interning for KQED's arts and culture series "Spark", was hired by Michael Hoff Productions, Inc. Here as Writer/Associate Producer, she collaborated with Hoff's many talented producers, editors and writers to produce award-winning non-fiction television programs for the National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, Discovery, HGTV and more.

Currently, Katie freelances in the San Francisco Bay Area.
