Just in case you were wondering ...

Bone Marrow Transplants are often refered to using the anagram "BMT." Today I causally came across a list of other things that share that moniker:

* Benton MacKaye Trail
* Tianjin Binhai Mass Transit, rapid transit system in Tianjin, China
* Bachelor of Medical Technology degree
* Basic Military Training or Recruit training
* Billings, Montana
* Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation subway in New York City
* Subway (restaurant)'s B.M.T. sandwich, named after the Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit subway now stands for Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest
* Bone marrow transplant medical procedure
* Biel Mean Time, the scale used by Swatch Internet Time
* BMT Limited, a UK-based international engineering and management consultancy
* BMTCSS, a Catholic High School in Toronto, Ontario
* Base Metal Thickness (excluding any coatings) in the Steel industry
* Bilateral Myringotomy Tubes
* Blitz Model Tecnica, Italian radio controlled car manufacturer

Mom:

Dear Katie,
The list is very intersting-where in the world did you casually find it? I never knew that there were so many rapid transits-but why would I? I've been abroad so often!
I hate to admit it but when you called me last week and gave me the Blog address-I was wondering why BMT? DUH!!!
So gald you are posting again-sure missed you. And living way out here in the sticks, I need something to read. HA! HA!
Okay, I'm goint to read the next POST-been saving it. Like getting a letter, you devour the words so fast at first becasue you are so excited and then read it over and over again to savor the information. Okay, you are not in the letter generation-it's like getting pictures developed and getting to the car, if you can wait that long and tearing into the envelope to see if that one of you makes you look like a "HIPPO" Does this picture make my butt look big? No, it makes all of you look HUGE!! Thanks!?!
Well, let me rd the next POST,
Love,
MOm

Mom:

Dear Katie,
Just reread my comment and I can't remember, we did have old fashioned pictures when you were a kid, right? Ya know, the kind that we had to go get developed and had to wait for. Today so much is now, right now.
Yeah, now I remember. Your dad took mostly slides and we would have a slide show. I was the one who just loved these slide shows and would probably bore anyone who came around to have another slide show. Karen Kendall and I used to bug your dad and Bob for another slide show. We were both nuts about these pictures. It was a big thing when we went to visit the Kendalls to have a slide show and Karen would always have bunches and bunches to eat. BURP!!! "We've got to have more slides, there is still so much more to eat!!! Alrightee, then, let's watch them over. HUH? No? PLEASE!!!"
On to the next POST.
Love,
Mom
