There are a lot of beautiful places to go walking in Marin. Here we are perched atop a low-lying Eucalyptus branch in Tennessee Valley, one of my current favorite places to go because it is easy to get to, easy walking and it's got the added bonus of seeing the beach at the end.
As you can see, the road starts off paved, but there's a place where it splits into two trails. Go to the right and it's a much wider -- and steeper -- fire road. It's great for bikes, but hikers walk it, too. Go to the left and it's a narrow "hikers only" trail. This route is roughly a flat straight-away, but a little longer in distance.
Lately, getting out and walking is probably my favorite part of the day. When Ian and I go together, he usually runs and I walk. We keep in touch via cell phones, but it's sometimes nice to be alone in the world, looking around and listening to my iPod.
All for now.
cheers,
Katie

Dear Katie,
What a beautiful area to walk around in. It is the consensus around the nursing station that you look good bald. You not only have a great shaped head but you are so pretty.
so that is the vote from Okalahoma!!!
I, too like to walk alone except for the dogs. I like to listen to music or just walk silently especially if I am working somthing out. A lot of times I see deer or racoons and lots of rabbits and squirrels. the dogs lok forward to our walk everyday and get bent out of shaprw when I work and cannot take them.
Zach is getting so very big so fast. I can hardly believe that he is going to be 3 in january.
Well, I am at work. I am working on the behavioral floor and the doc just came in and is writing beaucoup orders, yuk!!! More wonderful paper work. But tonight is my last night and then I am off for 10 days again. YIPEE!!1
Lots of love to you, Ian, and Zach.

Dear Katie,
I just went to the web site and saw the new pictures of you all taking a hike. You look good in the Sooner hat. Your color has really improved so much-you look really good to me. So glad that you like the hat, I feel kind of represented way out here in Oklahoma.
Love,
Mom

I love Tennessee Valley, too -- let's go together once you are free!
