Today's photo doesn't really have anything to do with today's post; it's just a beautiful photograph of my son, Zach, navigating his way around the Bolinas/Fairfax ridge on Mt. Tamalpias. It makes me feel peaceful -- and peaceful is a tough commodity to get for some of us these days.
I had clinic on Tuesday and there's not much to add except that they found no evidence of CLL in my bone marrow. If you recall, the week before, they found 4% in the blood (flow cytometry, for those of you in the know) and the actual bone marrow results hadn't come in yet. Well, they're in and there's nothing. It's a good sign, but still not party-worthy for all the docs and nurses at UCSF. I am doing "just fine," they say.

Beautiful photo!
I want to come up and take walk with you guys, but it is proving to be impossible, for many reasons. Life is too short to be this busy. I have my last set of parent conferences on Monday and then maybe...
I haven't seen a movie in many months. We did get to see Matthew and Kai, however -- they came over after work last Friday. I am very excited for them.
This morning Luce, apropos of nothing, told me that I was the best mommy, with a big smile on his face. Those are the best kind of days, aren't they? That, and a trip to Blue Bottle coffee on a weekend, which I hope to share with you someday soon.

I'm running the Nike half marathon in SF on October 19. I'm running with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT). My good friend, Catherine, donated to the cause and she asked me to run in your honor. Next Sunday during my race I will be wearing a bracelet with your name on it. Stay strong. While the tone of your post sounds mundane, it sounds like a good day to me(I am not in the know). no bad news (for everyone ) is good news, especially lately. And that pic of Zack is EPIC! So F-ing cool! Blow it up and give it to him later.
It would be great to go on a little hike with you guys in Marin or even give a little tour of the wheelhouse on the Larkspur Ferry if you venture into the City sometime. Ahike would be better, these kids aren't getting younger, and neither are we, and It would be nice to see you guys.
