The home stretch

n798818761_860177_7252.jpg

After almost missing yet another day in the operating room, Katie got in to have her gall bladder removed last night. They were able to remove it laproscopicly and there were no complications. Now the only thing left is for her to get the pain from the operation under control and to switch her tacrolimus from IV to oral. I'm sure Katie will fill y'all in on the experience once she's a little less deloted.

Charlene:

So glad the surgery went smoothly and laproscopicly. Here's to a speedy recovery and many good things to eat. It must be scary for you to see Katie not eat for such a long stretch of time! I am almost always hungry, and I know Roberto would be worrying if I didn't feel like eating. Much love and good thoughts for you all. - Charlene

Charlene:

oh, and oh my god, that photo! Zach's such a big boy now. He gives good 'tude.

Zach:

Hey, Dad, that's a cool picture of me, but what I really like is the bougainvillea behind me. I sure can't wait until we get back to our San Francisco house where we have it in our garden. But it's not so bad here in Corte Madera. Yesterday Grandmamma took me to the park after school. I showed her how well I can ride my skuut. We saw a little girl fall off her bike. Grandmamma made a big deal about how the girl cried and then got right back up on the bike. Grandmamma talks in metaphors sometimes, but she doesn't fool me. Like last night, after bath. We went outside in the dark to blow Mommy a kiss. So if this blowing kisses stuff is pretend or metaphor or whatever, how come I felt Mommy's kiss land on my cheek?

Shirley:

Wishing Katie a speedy recovery!

Jonny:

yo Katie, I hope you are recovering from the surgery by enjoying a tall glass of ice cream.

Also: whats up with all the big words?

Jamie:

Great photo of Zach and uplifting update by Dad. Cheers to all!

Shannon:

Katie, so glad you were able to get the surgery and it went smoothly. Soon you'll be back on real food again - imagine that!

Liz:

I'm glad the surgery went well; you will be back to normal in no time. I'm amazed by this big boy, Zach. Wasn't he a baby, just yesterday? :)
