Well, we sold our house. We're now in escrow and, if everything goes as planned, we'll be homeless! Horray!
Update May 11, 2009: We closed Escrow! We are homeless!
After we signed the papers, I started to feel a little nostalgic ... so I'm dedicating the rest of this entry to Florida House.
Florida Street night view from our front porch.
Our friend, Jon, playing guitar in our old backyard. It must be around 4th of July because the grass is cut short, in case of wayward fireworks.
4th of July in the Mission ... said wayward fireworks.
Here's what our yard looked like the rest of the year.
There are some semi-ferral cats that hang out in the backyard.
We made friends with them.
Over the years, we remodeled every room in the house, one at a time. It was hard work and Ian gets most of the credit -- His handyman skills are better than he'll admit.
We did have lots of help from friends, though.
It was exhausting work.
There goes the roof!
And the walls!
Florida St. kitchen after a party ... There were many.
Gettin' our groove on ...
Gettin' our game on ...
Hootin' it up ...
We loved it here ...
But it's time to say good-bye ...
Good-bye Florida House!

Dear Katie,
What a beautiful tribute to your first house-the pictures were great!!! Glad that the sale went well-it can be so nerve racking to say the least. I've been through quite a few. This last move was really horrendous as we would have benn homeless with all our stuff in a truck out here in Oklahoma. But we were continually being shieled and came out really well.
I tried calling you several times after I got the message after your surgery and ahve left messages. I am assuming all is well. I did forget the time change one day and you were all asleep according to Marlene. So let me know what happened-sounded like it was more comlicated than you had hoped.
I wnt to the orthopedist and he said I could wait a while and he would fit me with an athletic brace to keep my knee in proper alighnment. So that is that and so I will get my SS set up and become a retired person before Obama gives all my retirement away which seems frightfully soon. He sure likes to spend everyone else's money.
Well, got to go.
Love,
Mom

Congratulations Katie! I was passing through your neighborhood last night and was wondering if you've sold it or not.
